COPPER PLATING CYANIDE

Has the widest field of application for electroplating. Can plate onto ferrous or non-ferrous metals and produces a flat matt copper finish. Cyanide Copper Plating has a much better throwing power than other types of copper plating solutions and is more suited to the plating of complex shaped components. It is only suitable for thin deposits of copper.

ACID COPPER PLATING

The advantages of Acid Copper plating are the high rate of deposit and the bright decorative nature of the finish. Deposits of 50+ microns are easily achieved. The deposit is fully bright when plated but can be mechanically polished. It can be lacquered or treated to prevent tarnishing. It is also quite normal to use acid copper plating prior to decorative chrome plating. i.e. Copper then nickel and then chromium plating. It is also used to mask areas prior to nitriding.
